Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Evve (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application. By using Evve, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: your name, phone number, date of birth, gender, and the preferences you set for who you’d like to meet.

Profile information: photos, bio, occupation, interests, and any social links you choose to add.

Identity verification data: images of your driver’s license and a selfie, used to confirm your identity.

Plans and requests: the plans you post, the plans you ask to join, who was confirmed, and any changes or cancellations.

Location data: your device’s location, used to show you plans near you and, during a confirmed plan, for the safety features described in section 4.

Safety information: whether and when you arrived at and left a plan’s venue, your answers to safety check-ins, any SOS you send, and your answer to “Did they show up?” after a plan.

Messages: content you send and receive through in-app chat with other members.

Trusted contact information: the name, relationship, and phone number of a contact you choose to add for safety purposes.

Blocks: the people you block, and when.

Usage and device data: information about how you use the App, your device type and operating system, and a token that lets us send you notifications, used for diagnostics, notifications and improving the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: create and manage your account; verify your identity and keep our community safe; show you plans that fit your preferences and location; let you request, confirm and change plans; enable in-app messaging between people confirmed for a plan together; run the safety features in section 4; calculate your reliability score; send you notifications; and improve, troubleshoot, and secure the App.

3. Identity Verification & Biometric Data

As part of onboarding, you scan your driver’s license and take a selfie. We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) Rekognition to compare your selfie against your ID photo to confirm a match. This biometric comparison is used only for identity verification and account approval. Images used for verification are stored securely and are not shared with other members or used for any other purpose. They are deleted as soon as a decision is made: when you’re approved, or after a manual review. Images from a verification that’s left unfinished are deleted after seven days.

4. Location and Safety Features

While you browse: Evve uses your location while the App is open to show you plans nearby and to search for places. Nothing is recorded.

During a confirmed plan: from the plan’s start time until you confirm you’re safe, or four hours after its planned end, Evve uses your location, including in the background, to notice when you arrive at and leave the venue and to check in with you afterwards. We keep only your most recent position, not a trail of where you’ve been.

What the other person sees: never your location. They may see whether you’ve arrived, so they know you’re on your way.

Check-ins: after a plan, Evve may ask whether you’re OK. Check-ins go only to you; the other person isn’t told. Answering “I’m OK” asks for Face ID or your passcode so only you can answer it.

Trusted contact: if you don’t answer a check-in, or you say you need help, Evve may send your trusted contact a text message with your first name, the plan’s time and venue, your last known location and when it was recorded, and the other person’s first name and photo. Evve does not contact emergency services.

Reliability score: whether you turned up, when you arrived, and whether you cancelled may be used to calculate a reliability score shown on your profile. It never reflects anything about how you look or who you are.

You can turn location off at any time in your device settings. Plans still work without it, but your arrival won’t be noticed automatically, and check-ins will only be time-based.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information with the following types of service providers solely to operate the App:

Google Firebase: for authentication, database storage, file storage, and server processing.

Amazon Web Services (AWS): for identity verification (facial comparison).

Stream: to power in-app messaging between members.

Foursquare: to search for places, using the location you search near.

Expo: to deliver notifications to your device.

Other members can see your profile (photos, bio, interests, social links you choose to add, and your reliability score), the plans you post, and messages you send them. A plan’s exact address is shown to the person confirmed for it. Your trusted contact receives information only as described in section 4. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members.

Blocking: when you block someone, neither of you sees the other’s profile or plans, they can’t message you or ask to join your plans, and any plan you had coming up together is cancelled. They aren’t told that you blocked them.

6. Data Retention

Location from a plan is deleted 24 hours after the plan’s safety window ends. After that we keep only the outcome — when you arrived and left, whether you were on time, and whether a check-in had to be escalated. We retain the rest of your information for as long as your account is active.

Deleting your account: Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account right away: your profile, photos, plans, requests, conversations (for the other person too), reliability score and verification records. A confirmed plan coming up is cancelled and the other person told. If any of your photos were removed, or plans hidden, for breaking our guidelines, we keep a scrambled form of your phone number and that record, so it carries over if you sign up again. It can’t be turned back into your number. Plans you joined stay in the other person’s history, without your name or photo. You can also ask us to delete your account without the App; see Delete your account.

7. Your Rights & Choices

You can review and update most of your information directly within the App under Profile and Settings, including your photos, bio, preferences, social links, trusted contact, and the people you’ve blocked. Settings → Account → Export my data gives you a copy of everything we hold about you, as a download link that works for one day. You can also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the details below.

8. Age Restriction

Evve is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 21, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone below it. Age is checked during sign-up and again against your government-issued ID during verification. If we learn that we have collected information from someone under 21, we will delete it promptly and close the account.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted storage and access controls that restrict who within our organization can view sensitive data such as verification images. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information to the best of our ability.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you through the App. Your continued use of Evve after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
